Every great journey begins with a passion for discovery. Our family’s story traces back to the Netherlands—our last name literally means “from Stavoren,” an ancient Dutch port town steeped in centuries of maritime trade and exploration. Traveling, discovering authentic ingredients, and trading across oceans is truly in our blood.

Today, as a family of four—with our two boys (ages 4 and 8) learning the ropes alongside us—we’re on a modern-day voyage. We created Finding Vanilla to do two things: source the world’s finest, most authentic vanilla beans and uncover the fascinating, surprising ways vanilla shapes flavor, culture, and history.
